The NBA trade deadline is on the horizon as plenty teams across the league prepare to reshape their rosters down the stretch.

As rumors continue to swirl, plenty of eyes are on the Washington Wizards not only because of the team's aggressive reputation on the trade market over the last few months, but because the team has plenty of reasons to remain active on the trade front.

For starters, the Wizards have made their motivation to offload Khris Middleton's expiring contract ahead of the deadline crystal clear.

In addition, the team has plenty of players on the roster that could interest playoff caliber teams or hopeful contenders.

And that's not even mentioning the Wizards leaving the door open on other potential moves if the right opportunity presents itself ahead of the deadline.

Regardless, whether it's courtesy of incoming additions or notable departures, it seems clear that the Wizards roster is bound to look different following the trade deadline.

Wizards roster shakeup is inevitable

Over the last few seasons since the Wizards officially began their rebuild, Washington has proven to be one of the most active teams ahead of the NBA trade deadline.

Between the team's motivation to take on unwanted salaries in order to land additional draft capital or young talent and the Wizards' willingness to send players to better situations with the chance to compete, Washington has become a team that's worth monitoring on a yearly basis.

Considering recent reports that suggests the Wizards could be preparing for a busy next couple of weeks, it feels safe to assume Washington's roster could look different when the dust finally settles post deadline.

One name in particular who very well could be on the move is Marvin Bagley III, who's widely viewed as a top budget target for teams looking to bolster their frontcourts.

The big man has served as a viable option for the Wizards off the bench this season and he's proven to be a capable spot-starter for Washington when asked to fill in for Alex Sarr in the starting lineup.

In addition to Bagley, another trade candidate that could be targeted by opposing teams is Justin Champagnie, who's emerged as a versatile wing for the Wizards over the last two seasons,

With Champagnie not having a clear role in Washington moving forward, it wouldn't be a shock to see the Wizards field calls for the forward.

Beyond that, with President of Monumental Basketball recently revealing the Wizards are finished with the reconstruction phase of the rebuild, it wouldn't be a shock to see Washington pull the plug on some experiments of young prospects like Bilal Coulibaly, who's struggled to show the improvement the team has hoped he could make in three seasons.

All that to say, the Wizards fanbase should prepare for a roster shakeup as the deadline looms.
