The Washington Wizards haven't been shy over the last couple seasons when it comes to making moves.
Between countless trades, multiple signings and adding several intriguing young prospects, general manager Will Dawkins has proved that he'll do whatever it takes to put his team one step closer to ending their rebuild sooner rather than later.
Washington's general manager has made several bold moves, including the additions of Malcolm Brogdon, Khris Middleton and CJ McCollum with the intentions of landing a veteran presence that could serve as a mentor for the team's young roster.
However, it's clear that the Wizards intent is to continue getting younger with a youth movement as the top priority moving forward.
Looking at the departures of several Wizards players over the last season, including the likes of Deni Avidja, who's turned the corner with his new role on the Portland Trail Blazers, Washington has made it clear that if they feel a move benefits the Wizards, they will pull the trigger.
Heading into the season, Washington has several trade candidates on the roster with both McCollum and Middleton as the top suspected players to be involved in a deal.
Nonetheless, one player in specific that could be moved for the right price is former first-round pick Corey Kispert.
Kispert was drafted to be a sharpshooting wing for the Wizards after an impressive college career at Gonzaga, but after several average seasons in the DMV, the 26-year-old is slowly but surely aging out of the team's future timeline.
The forward's role with the Wizards heading into next season likely won't be in jeopardy, but it won't be a surprise to see his minutes cut in half, if not more with the surplus of young players and lack of minutes to spare.
That said, if a contending team came calling, it feels safe to say that the Wizards front office would be more than willing to discuss a potential deal to move on from the wing.
Coming off a contract extension ahead of last season, there are plenty of playoff teams that could be interested in a 3-and-D wing to plug in off the bench, especially on his average salary of $13.5 million.
Kispert heads into the season with the Wizards and although he may not be focused on a trade, there's no doubt that after several losing seasons in the DMV, if a change of scenery were presented to the West Coast Conference standout, he'd more than likely be interested.
