Wizards get played off the court in another lackluster performance vs. Cavaliers

Just when you think the Wizards couldn't look worse, they do.

The Washington Wizards woes continue after one of the ugliest performances against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night,

Washington entered their matchup against the Cavs riding a 14 game losing streak hoping to snap the curse that has plagued the team this season. However, the team couldn't seem to figure out how to do that against the top seed in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards were blown out in Cleveland with a final score of 118-87.

Following their 31 point loss, it's hard to imagine that things could get any worse for the Wizards moving forward. And while that seems safe to say, looking at the performances put forth by the team's young core last night, it's even harder to have any hope that things get turned around in Washington any time soon,

That said, here's a run down of just how bad the Wizards performed on Tuesday night vs. the Cavaliers.

13 points is the most any player scored

The Wizards have struggled to put points on the board at times this season, but for the most part, they've been able to rely on atleast one guy to show up on gameday. However, on Tuesday, nobody showed up. Jordan Poole and Jonas Valanciunas tied for a team-high 13 points in the loss.

Aside from Poole and Valanciunas, the next highest scorers were Alex Sarr and Jared Butler who put up 10 points a piece.

Shooting splits of 38.6% FG & 15.4% 3PT

The Wizards lack of point directly correlates to their lack of ability to knock down shots against the Cavaliers. Washington shot an abysmal 38.6% from field goal range (32/83 FG) and 15.4% from beyond the arc (4/26 3PT). The worst part is their rough shooting seemingly came from a lack of focus and frustration rather than anything the Cavs did on defense.

21 Turnovers

To win a game in the NBA, two main things a team needs to do is score points and protect the basketball. In this loss, the Wizards didn't do either. Washington ended the game with 21 turnovers which led to 25 points from the Cavaliers on turnovers alone.

In a game where the Wizards lost by 31, giving up 25 free points is just something that no team could survive.

Looking ahead, the Wizards are running out of time to turn their season around as both the fan base and players on the roster seem to be waiting on the offseason to get here.
