Washington Wizards completed a trade for Bojan Bogdanovic on Wednesday afternoon, but the team might not be done making deals.

On Wednesday, the Washington Wizards finally addressed their need for bench scoring by acquiring Bojan Bogdanovic from the Brooklyn Nets.

Bogdanovic, who’s averaging over 14 points per game this season, is an under-the-radar scorer capable of leading an offense when he finds a rhythm. Bogdanovic scored 44 points this season and averaged 25 points in the Rio Olympics.

But despite the addition, Bogdanovic won’t solve all of the second unit’s problems.

Washington’s bench is 29th in scoring, rivaled only by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Bogdanovic isn’t an isolation scorer and will likely share the court alongside John Wall and Bradley Beal in spurts.

Really, there isn’t a role player in the NBA that could fix the Wizards’ bench problem alone.

For the Wizards to truly compete against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the postseason, the front office will continue to have to make upgrades.

According to Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, the Wizards are still looking for help before the Thursday afternoon trade deadline.

Washington dangled a first round pick hoping to land a rotation player, but that asset is no longer available.

The Wizards still have multiple second round picks to trade and might be able to acquire another player with those. Washington was also rumored to have interest in trading Ian Mahinmi, but the center’s $64 million contract will be difficult to move.

Simply put, the Washington Wizards don’t have much else to trade.

Kelly Oubre is an intriguing player to other teams, but the Wizards want to develop the 21-year-old into their core. Oubre hasn’t been involved in any trade rumors this season.

Ernie Grunfeld could look to package one of their backcourt players – Trey Burke or Tomas Satoransky – and a second round pick in a trade.

Washington has been linked to Shabazz Muhammad and P.J. Tucker.

Both players have less value than Bogdanovic had on the trade market.

Now that the Wizards have acquired one of their primary targets, the front office has less pressure to complete a deal.

If they fail to add more talent by tomorrow afternoon, Washington will likely consider adding another player after buy outs.

Teams that don’t complete trades often buy out players, which are later signed. Washington could make room by waiving one of their undrafted rookies – Sheldon McClellan, Danuel House or Daniel Ochefu.
