Washington Wizards: Anatomy of a Wizards’ Loss – Round 2
No Perimeter Defense
The Wizards can’t let Boston run the same plays allowing Kelly Olynyk, off the bench to be perfect from the three-point line, going 2 for 2. When you have bench players knocking down shots like that you know how much confidence that gives a team.
On the other hand, Bojan Bogdanovic who has gone missing in action these playoffs, and scored a whopping 0 points.
The Celtics did not put on another 3-point clinic like they did on Sunday, but the three’s they hit were crucial and determined the outcome of the game.
During the game, Boston would start defending their man before they even reached the timeline.
Alternatively, the Wizards would leave their man wide open for threes, allowing them to get clean looks.

Wall limited his turnovers this game, and only had 4 compared to 8 in the previous game.
But there was no hustle by the Wizards, no diving for the loose ball, or disrupting the Celtics offense while they waltzed in for easy layups and uncontested shots.

Without revisiting the final seconds of the game, when Wall and Beal both missed their shots, and a chance to win it in regulation, and steal an away game.
It should not have to come down to the final seconds to erase a bad game full of mistakes.
