Washington Wizards utilize promotional tactics including T-shirt giveaways and rally towels, as is the case with many home playoff teams. On Tuesday, the team released its plans for Games 3 and 4 at Verizon Center.
After losing both games in Boston, including a heartbreaker in OT, Washington returns to Verizon Center for a pivotal Game 3 on Thursday night. No team has ever came back from a 3-0 deficit in a best of 7 series in the NBA playoffs, and the Wizards surely do not want to take the chance that they can become the first.
With that in mind, the organization knows that it needs a loud and intimidating environment at Verizon Center for Games 3 and 4. Washington is 33-11 at home this season, including 3-0 in the playoffs.

The 30-11 regular season was the Wizards best record at home in decades. Both players and coaches have noted that the intensity from the fans has helped them close out games at home. It also helped the team win 17 straight games at home, the second most in franchise history.
Both games this series have been within reach late in the fourth quarter, so the ability to close will be huge with the next two games at home.
In an effort to keep the fans energized and excited, along with the seeming necessity during the playoffs, Washington will be providing fans with t-shirts and rally towels as was done in round one.
For Game 3, fans will be provided with rally towels courtesy of WGL. Game 4, on Sunday, will see the team giving all fans t-shirts courtesy of CustomInk. In a new design, the t-shirt layout in the arena will be patterned after the DC flag. You can see a mock of the arena layout here.
Fans will be happy to here the news of these giveaways, as there was groaning about the lack of free incentives to the Wizards’ Game 5 win against Atlanta. That game also had the closest margin of victory in the series. Coincidence?
