Going to Have to Start with Gortat and the Horford Mismatch

Al Horford was Marcin Gortat’s job last night, and he failed miserably.

Horford has become a legitimate 3-point shooter. Gortat is used to defending his man inside the paint, so he’s not used to chasing them around.

There has to be a faster person put on Horford, and I suggest Markieff Morris. Because Horford does not fear Gortat at all as a perimeter defender. And that’s an undiluted fact.

Horford was almost perfect from the three-point line, going 3 for 4.

This is not Dwight Howard who plants himself underneath the basket, Horford plays like a guard. Thus, you can not play him like a center, because he is Not playing like a Center.

Someone else besides Gortat has to guard Horford. Gortat’s just not fast enough, and the three-point line is outside his comfort zone.

Gortat allowed Horford to be so comfortable at the three, that Isaiah Thomas and the rest of the Beantown crew started lighting it up from behind the arc.
