Rudy Gobert is 7’1” and anchored a defense that allowed the least amount of points. He led the NBA in blocks and was All-NBA Second Team. Plus, he already has a nickname: The Stifle Tower.

More from Wiz of Awes

This French man has grown from a bench warmer to a premiere defensive center. He has great timing and footwork on the defensive end, which is hard to find in today’s NBA. Big men want to be scorers or a stretch-4s, and Gobert will get there. But this defensive foundation is already earning him All-NBA spots.

I can see him growing into a Marc Gasol; a player who anchors his defense while averaging around 20 PPG. Gobert must continue developing touch around the rim and a mid-range jumper. At this 24-year-old’s rate, he’ll catch Gasol sooner than we believe.
