John Wall

Beal told The Vertical that Wall would be Tupac Shakur “because John is a little crazy.” I don’t have the historical knowledge of specifically what Beal is referring to by that quote, but I can point to a few moments to help support the case.

More from Wiz of Awes

Wall, in his 7th season, led the team in technical fouls assessed during the regular season with 15. Looking across the league, Wall was tied for 2nd in the league in technicals with Russell Westbrook, and just three behind his buddy Demarcus Cousins.

Also, Wall is known to talk crazy to his opponents. There was the time he flashed his Bradley Beal hand signal (or gang sign as some will call it.) He once blocked Jerryd Bayless and looked at him like “Really, in my house mo-fo?” And Wall had three signature trash talk moments this playoffs.

During Game 2 of the first round, Wall got a steal, and ran full court against Dennis Schroder finishing a monstrous left hand dunk. He asked Schroder a simple question.

In Game 6 of the first round, he hit a clutch shot in Atlanta, stared down Gucci Mane, Quavo (NSFW), and Julio Jones, and “did it for the culture.” Against Boston he made another “mean mug” although this one was harder to decipher.

Earlier this season Wall did the seemingly impossible and got ejected in back to back games. In the first game he did this to Marcus Smart. You can argue the technical on him for bumping the ref the previous game was bogus, but it still equated to the first of two ejections in two games.

Tupac, though a poet, certainly had his crazy side. Shooting two off-duty police officers who had stolen guns. Assaulting his director on the set of Menace II Society, then boasting about it on Yo! MTV Raps. Going as far as to predict his own death on multiple occasions. and even admitting “Oh yea, I feel crazy.”

I would also say that both Wall and Tupac are “the stars” but to each his own.

Lastly, as we know, Wall is “crazy quick.”
