Small Forward

Starter: Otto Porter Jr.

Backup: Kelly Oubre Jr.

Reserve: N/A

Otto Porter blossomed in his 4th season, and earned himself a nice raise in the process. Porter is a very valuable piece for the Wizards, one that they couldn’t afford to lose. He’s become an elite shooter, can play both forward spots, and guards the other team’s best wing. He should see around 32-34 MPG and continue to improve in various categories.

Many people were saying the Wizards shouldn’t match the Nets offer sheet to Porter, and a big reason why is Kelly Oubre. But at this stage, Porter is a significantly better player. Oubre has a long way to go.

His talent and potential is unquestioned, and at just 21 years of age he may already be the Wizards most talented defender. But he’s struggled with consistency and until he improves his ball handling, shooting, and finishing, his only real impact will come as a defensive specialist.

The Wizards don’t boast any other natural Small Forwards on the roster. However, if undrafted free agents Devin Robinson or Michael Young were to earn a roster spot, than they’d likely slide into the reserve role here.
