Average 10.0 PPG

In the first slide, I mentioned that Oubre Jr. will probably never be a scorer on the level of Jamal Crawford on Lou Williams. However, that doesn’t mean he lacks the talent and skill to be a good one.

The Wizards need a go-to scorer off the bench. It’s unlikely Jodie Meeks will be that guy, same goes for Tim Frazier and Ian Mahinmi. Oubre, who averaged 6.3 PPG last season, has the potential to increase his scoring significantly. If he can improve his shot-creating and shooting, scoring will come much easier for him.

He’s already proven to be an adequate finisher at the rim, capable of hitting tough shots and dunks through traffic. However, he needs to develop a right hand. Defenders know that Oubre can only drive to his left, which makes him predictable. While a jump of almost 4.0 PPG is significant, it’s feasible.

With a smaller role for Marcin Gortat, his scoring will likely dip. Cracking double digits and being fourth on the team in scoring would be an impressive feat for the former Jayhawk.
