The Washington Wizards have several interesting decisions to make moving forward into the offseason.

Washington will not only have to fend off interested teams for Anthony Davis, while determining if a max extension for the Hall of Fame big man is the best path forward, but they also have a prime opportunity to continue bolstering their roster when free agency opens on Tuesday night.

The Wizards are already reportedly flirting with the idea of a reunion with former All-Star guard Russell Westbrook this summer, according to NBA Insider Jake Fischer.

However, the reunion most fans would likely be interested in comes at the hands of a franchise legend, who just entered his name into free agency unexpectedly.

Bradley Beal set to enter free agency setting up dream reunion

Everyone knows that Bradley Beal's career has taken an interesting turn for the worse since leaving the Wizards a few years back.

Beal at one point was one of the top scorers in the league, but between a stretch of injuries, inefficient play, and the struggles of the Phoenix Suns as a whole, Beal was labeled as the scapegoat given his lucrative contract.

After being bought out in Phoenix, the former top-three pick landed with the LA Clippers last offseason on an extremely discounted deal, but a season-ending injury cut his time there short.

Entering the offseason, Beal was widely expected to pick up his player option with the Clippers, given his $5,6 million contract was fully guaranteed.

Instead, the former Wizard opted out of his deal, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Since declining his option, Beal has been linked to the Miami Heat, as well as a potential return to the Clippers, but with Kawhi Leonard expected to be traded in the near future, a return to LA doesn't exactly make sense.

What does make sense, though, is if Beal pulls a similar move to Damian Lillard, who returned to the Portland Trail Blazers last offseason to continue his career in the place it started.

Obviously, Beal isn't the player he once was, but he's still a dynamic scorer with extremely high IQ, and a return to the place he called home for over a decade could help him return to his former self, or at least much closer to what he's shown in recent years.

Not to mention, Beal would be the perfect mentor for the young core in D.C., especially guard Tre Johnson, whose ceiling could be close to Beal's if he can put it all together.

The Wizards are in a much different spot than when Beal returned, and competing for a playoff spot is very much in the realm of possibilities next season.

If Beal returns to help lead Washington back to the postseason, adding to his legacy in the DMV, the last few years after his trade could be completely forgotten about.
