From his rookie season in Orlando, to impressive stops in Houston and Los Angeles, the big man will forever be known as one of the most dominant centers to ever play in the league.
Not only was the former No. 1 overall picker a nightmare defensively and on the boards, but as a force to be reckoned with in the paint, his offensive impact made him one of the most impactful two-way players in the league at one point.
And while Howard's impressive resume allows for him to prove his dreams came true being inducted into the Hall of Fame, a place his name will remain forever; the Wizards are forced to be reminded of the nightmare that fans deal with only a daily basis.
Washington has consistently been known as one of the worst teams in the NBA over the last couple of decades.
Sure, the Wizards have had a few strong seasons in between the struggles, mainly when John Wall and Bradley Beal were at their peak.
Still, that doesn't change the fact that there haven't been many positives to talk about in recent memory.
In fact, there's more negatives to talk about than there is positives and Howard's induction only proves that to be true.
The big man only suited up in Washington for nine games following his stints with the Atlanta Hawks and Charlotte Hornets, but even then, it's a reminder of the talented players that have walked through the Wizards doors with nothing to show for it.
Between Michael Jordan, Gilbert Arenas, Wall, Beal and even Howard (technically), the surplus of talent on the Wizards roster throughout the years and continuous struggle to find success is disappointing.
As a result, Washington has finally come to the realization that pressing the restart button would be best for the team's future.
Fortunately, the Wizards have come a far ways in the last couple years, especially following the masterclass of an offseason general manager Will Dawkins put together over the last couple of months.
The future looks bright in the DMV and there's positives to draw about what the coming years may hold.
However, it's hard to not be reminded about just how many talented players have played in D.C. but haven't impacted wining during their time here when thinking about Howard's induction as a Wizards' fan.
