The Washington Wizards are less than a week away from finding out where they'll select with their top draft pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Washington could land the No. 1 overall pick, but they also could fall back anywhere within the top 5 and even further if their worst nightmare comes true.

Assuming the Wizards land a top five pick like their chances suggests they should, here's a look at where they could/should go with the pick based off of what position they're drafting in.

Round 1, Pick 1: Cooper Flagg, Duke

Cooper Flagg is the obvious choice for not only the Wizards, but whatever team lands the No. 1 overall pick. The Duke star is a generational talent and his two-way ability puts him in elite company nearly when he first steps on an NBA court.

The Maine native has the tools to immediately be a top player in the league and he'll high expectations as soon as he gets drafted. Flagg would be the franchise-altering talent Washington has desperately been seeking and immediately make them an attractive destination for incoming talent.

Round 1, Pick 2: Dylan Harper, Rutgers

Reports have already surfaced that Dylan Harper has plenty of fans within the Wizards front office barring the possibility that they land the No. 2 overall pick. Similar to how Flagg is almost certainly expected to go No. 1 overall, it seems the Rutgers star is expected widely to go No. 2.

If Washington earns No. 2, it seems safe to say that Harper is D.C. bound.

Round 1, Pick 3: Ace Bailey, Rutgers

This is where the NBA Draft could get interesting if the Wizards land the third overall pick. If Washington truly does prefer positional size, Ace Bailey could be their guy as he's similar to Flagg, at least as a scoring threat.

Bailey has the size to to play multiple positions, and he's a three-level scorer, but he has a ways to go as a facilitator at the next level. Nonetheless, the potential is there for him to be an absoluite star.

Round 1, Pick 4: VJ Edgecombe, Baylor

VJ Edgecombe could be the sleeper in this draft class. He's proved to be a raw prospect at Baylor, and while he has areas to improve, his strengths on the court show flashes of star talent. If he's available at No. 4 when the Wizards select (assuming they fall that far), Edgecombe would be a homerun pick from this position with the right development.

Round 1, Pick 5: Jeremiah Fears, Oklahoma

Jeremiah Fears has already been mocked to the Wizards in a worse-case scenario mock draft by Bleacher Report a few weeks back. Fears is an elite talent and while he does have the potential to elevate his game to a star level, he'll likely take a bit more time to reach that level in the NBA, depending where he lands.
