The NBA All-Star fun has come to an end, but with the new USA vs. the World format the league put together, it appears that the game has finally been revived.

After years of disappointing matchups filled with lackluster defense, pointless shots and minimal effort from the stars around the league, seeing a format bring out the competitive side of the best players in the world was refreshing to see this weekend.

Beyond the All Star game itself, the three-point contest and the NBA Dunk contest are two other areas that could bring plenty of attention to the 2027 NBA All-Star Weekend.

The NBA Dunk contest wasn't exactly the highlight of the weekend, as it was filled with several mediocre dunks and a lack of hype from the fans.

However, that should be the least of the league's concern, because all it takes is for the return of a premiere name like Mac McClung, a high-flying young prospect or a star player to bring the fun back to the contest.

As for the three-point contest, the hype hasn't really fallen off considering the best shooters in the world still feel the desire to prove how good they are on a yearly basis; even Damian Lillard who returned to defend his Three-Point championship while recovering from a torn achilles.

Looking ahead to 2027, Damian Lillard and Stephen Curry could be preparing to put together a legendary three-point contest and this Washington Wizards sharpshooter could have just received an unofficial invitation.

Tre Johnson would be perfect fit for dream three-point contest

In a recent screenshot posted to social media, it appears that reigning three-point contest winner and former winner Stephen Curry are preparing to make the 2027 contest one to remember.

A lineup of Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Devin Booker is already a dream lineup of top shooters in the league.

However, with the sharpshooters looking for "4 more real shooters," the Wizards may have the perfect fit on the roster waiting for the chance to show off his marksmanship.

Rookie Tre Johnson has proven from the jump that his calling card is on the offensive end, shooting an extremely efficient clip from the floor on 44% field goal shooting and 38.6% from beyond the arc.

The Texas product has showcased his unlimited range on multiple occasions throughout his rookie season and between his skillset and competitive edge, he'd be the perfect addition to the dream three-point contest.

Not to mention Booker has already given Johnson his nod of approval earlier this season.

With other names like Kon Knueppel, Payton Pritchard, Sam Hauser, Buddy Hield and even Tyler Herro coming to mind, the 2027 three-point contest could be the best display of knockdown shooting we've ever seen.
