The Washington Wizards have been very active this offseason.
Between the multiple acquisitions on the trade market, free agency and the NBA Draft, Washington has quickly filled the open roster spots made available by the departures of several players from last year.
General manager Will Dawkins has not only filled the roster, but he's done even more than that.
Taking swings on potential and high-upside veteran additions like Skal Labissiere and Marvin Bagley III in the front court, Washington is clearly on the hunt to add players with the potential to develop into a key player for Brian Keefe's squad moving forward.
With one training camp spot remaining for the Wizards to fill, here's a look at three players that could fit the bill for the team to take a swing on with the chance to earn a roster spot.
F Bol Bol, Phoenix Suns (UFA)
Bol Bol is one of the most intriguing prospects in not only the list of remaining free agents, but the NBA as a whole.
At 7-foot-3, the Oregon product's skillset puts him in elite company with his ability to handle the ball and space the floor at his size. Not to mention what he offers as a rim protector.
At 25, Bol has yet to be given a fair opportunity to truly show what he's able to offer a team and after continously searching for that opportunity, it could prove beneficial for the forward and son of NBA legend Manute Bol to try his hand on a rebuilding team with plenty of minutes to spare like the Wizards.
C Charles Bassey, San Antonio Spurs (UFA)
Charles Bassey was let go by the San Antonio Spurs, but he got the opportunity to prove why that was a mistake during Summer League with the Boston Celtics.
The big man not only proved to be a reliable rebounder, but a consistent presence in the paint on defense.
Not to mention his efficiency on offense cleaning up the glass and selecting his shots.
With Washington looking for help in the front court, Bassey could be worth a camp workout.
G Emoni Bates, Cleveland Cavaliers (UFA)
Emoni Bates was once one of the most hyped high school prospects in the nation.
The oversized guard's college career didn't warrant that at first, but after a change of scenery, he quickly reminded people why his talent warranted hype.
Bates attempted to begin his career with the Cleveland Cavaliers, but with the Cavs emergence over the last season, it became difficult for him to do that.
In Washington, it could prove to be a worthy high-upside swing.
