The Washington Wizards have completely reshaped their roster over the course of the last two months.

Washington has made an abundance of moves to introduce new players to the team through the trade market, free agency and NBA Draft.

As a result, the Wizards have been forced to part ways with multiple players that helped make up the roster when the season came to an end.

Of players moving on from the Wizards this offseason, the likes of Marcus Smart and Richaun Holmes come to mind.

Not to mention Jordan Poole and Saddiq Bey who were traded in exchange for CJ McCollum and Kelly Olynyk who was later dealt away.

However, one player who may be deciding to depart from the Wizards rather than allowing for the decision to be made for them is Malcolm Brogdon.

Brogdon joined the Wizards last offseason prior to the 2024 NBA Draft when Washington opted to trade former lottery pick Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers as part of a deal that ultimately landed the veteran guard and the draft pick to select Bub Carrington.

The playmaker only suited up in 24 games for the Wizards this past season, averaging 12.7 points, 4.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds, while shooting 43.3% from field goal range and a career-low 28.6% from beyond the arc.

Washington was expected to try and move on from Brogdon ahead of the NBA trade deadline in February, but in the midst an injury-riddled season mixed with low efficiency, it made it challenging for the Wizards to find a trade partner for the veteran.

Now, as an unrestricted free agent, the Virginia product remains on the open market as he's yet to find a suitor for his services up to this point.

Whether it truly is because of the likes of Ben Simmons, Russell Westbrook or even Jonathan Kuminga holding up the market is unknown.

Despite that, if Brogdon were to have a team in mind that he'd like to play for that couldn't get a deal done, the Wizards could opt to do right by their former guard and help facilitate a sign-and-trade deal that would help him get to where he wanted to go.

Up to this point, teams like the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers have been mentioned as potential suitors and if that were the case, both squads would likely need to make additional moves to make a deal work.

Fortunately for Brogdon, Washington could find benefits from helping a deal work.
