Washington Wizards star John Wall made news Monday night after his quote about his desire to convince Paul George to seek a trade to Washington. Here’s a message to the Pacers star.

For the Washington Wizards to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, they just need one more piece on what I like to call their chessboard. And in Paul George, John Wall may have found that missing piece.

Getting that piece to move to Washington may not be as hard as you think.

Before the NBA Awards show on Monday, Wall told the ESPN’s Undefeated, that he himself has been recruiting George to play for the Wizards.

Wall knows that wherever George lands next season, will be his only season with that team, until he signs with the Lakers during free agency.

There are some not in favor of giving up assets for a one-year rental. What would fans rather, a chance to go to the Finals or being sent home yet again during the semifinals? Because as the roster now stands, the Wizards do not match up to LeBron James and his Cavaliers.

Well I’m throwing my hat in the ring alongside Wall, and will bestow the virtues of this great city and team. But first, let’s learn what Wall has to say in the matter, because his voice may carry a bit more weight than my own.

Wall told the Undefeated:

"“Look at our team. We are one piece away. We have the point guard, we have the shooting guard, we have the center, we have the power forward. Our 3-man [Otto Porter Jr.] did great for us. You can’t take nothing away from what he did. But [George] is a guy that can guard LeBron and go back at LeBron. It’s a piece that you’re going to need to win. If you don’t have a guy who can do that, you don’t have a chance.”“You got to add another star. You got to add another piece. You got to have three guys. And that’s what it’s looking like.”"

Yes, Wall made a compelling argument that a Big-3 is necessary to combat the likes of Cleveland.

Wall is not sure of his chances with George, but at least he’s trying off the court to make the Wizards a viable contender next season.

"“We’ve been friends, and we’ve talked throughout the summer,” Wall said. “He has to make a decision that is comfortable to him. But at the end of the day, you always have to get [elite players]. You have to go out swinging. You got to get a yes or a no.”"

Thanks for the assist John, now it’s my turn. In Wizards’ fans eyes, Paul you will be the most famous George to ever hit Washington. The Wizards aren’t going to put any pressure on you to stay on longer than the upcoming season.

More from Wiz of Awes

Washington is a beautiful and diverse city. We have museums and monuments, and we’ll even erect one of you if we make it to the Finals.

There’s the beautiful Mall where you can while away your afternoons. You don’t have to leave the city for anything, because Washington has it all.

Since you’re only going to be here for a year, don’t even think about moving trucks, Wall will let you live with him.

You will have the best lob partner in the NBA, when Wall alley-oops for your easy dunks.

And outside of the CAVS, the Wizards have a better chance of making the Eastern Conference Finals next season than Boston.

I’m from Massachusetts, and Boston is also a beautiful city during the summer, when they have summer. Boston really only has three seasons – winter, construction and fall.

I’m not taking anything away from Boston, but Washington is where you should be. Why go to a storied franchise, when you can make history right here in Washington?

Plus, if you go to the Lakers, guess who their archenemy is? Exactly. No one will fault you for coming to Washington, and you should not let public opinion, (except my own), ever sway you in any basketball decision you make.

The Wizards and its fanbase will make you feel right at home, and the transition will be virtually stress-free. And don’t worry about cap space. Mr. Grunfeld, if I could speak freely, we got you on that as well.

George you are the missing piece to put us over the top, to take us to that next level. So keep your home, until your move to Los Angeles, and just bring yourself and your family.

I’m sure I can speak for Wizards’ President Grunfeld that Washington will take care of you during your time here. I guarantee if you come to Washington, you will be in the Eastern Conference Finals. Now, if you go to Boston, I can’t make any such guarantee.
